Becoming Like Jesus in Speech

Discipleship is a tool God uses to shape men to be like Him. In fact one of the indications that a man is becoming like Jesus is his speech. The fruit of your lips is the proof of who you are. It is the evidence, the admissible exhibit of your true life. The Bible tells us we are the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13); salt is noted for preserving. Then, let your conversations preserve and build life. When you open your mouth, does life flow out? Or what was said was meant to be salt but the message missed the mark because you have lost your ‘saltiness’? Job told his friends that their words though seemingly right, were poison and do not produce life. Therefore, let your conversations be seasoned with salt (Colossians 4:6). This you can only achieve if God’s word becomes a reality in your life.
