Take A Stand

In the Bible, we saw king Balak of Moab doing everything he can to get Prophet Balaam to curse the people of God (Israel). Balaam declared, how could he curse a people that are blessed, dwelling securely in their tents and beloved of God (Numbers 23 – 24)? Now, the only way for the people to be cursed is if they fall into sin, because a causeless curse cannot rest on a person (Proverbs 26:2). Sadly, fall they did! But Praise God for Phinehas (Aaron’s grandson) that stood his ground against the onslaught of darkness while Moses and the Elders sat.

Presently, for the discerning, it is clear that something is happening in the Spirit realm. It is as if we are reliving the Balak and Balaam moments again in the Body of Christ, especially in our Nation. Things that are clearly evil are being celebrated as righteous. We even try to explain away the judgments of God. We see the severe hand of the Lord upon the Church, but we explain it away with Scriptures. It is like the more the Lord warns us, the more sons of God dig their heels deeper in sin! It is not coincidental that the Bible told us: “It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, since that is the end of all mankind, and the living should take it to heart” (Ecclesiastes 7:2). This means the occurrence should make you pause and think about your own life; where you will end in eternity! Sadly, many of us at this point find ways to justify the lives and death of the person. Hello! No one made you deputy almighty. No man’s approval or rejection is subject to any human, rather our approval or disapproval is from God: Before Him, we will stand or fall (2Timothy 2:15). If you understand this, you will take heed to your own life as the same fate awaits everyone!

Several years ago, many Preachers declared this Scripture boldly from pulpits: “For the time [has arrived] for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will [be] the end of those who do not respect or believe or obey the good news (the Gospel) of God?” (1 Peter 4:17 AMPC). They warned and admonished believers to live right and be worthy of the call of God. Many wondered when such a time will be. I remembered a particular Preacher then, declaring that such cannot happen in the next 100 years or so. He posited that this present time is for the Church to reassess herself. He opined that the present state of the Church will not survive if God was to send His judgments. As if God needs our buy-in to send His judgments! Sadly, many that don’t know the God they serve were confused with such teachings. But those that know their God, know the coming of Jesus Christ is not just near, it is almost here.

If you are still in a state of dilemma, look around you beloved. The world and its systems are going crazy on a daily basis. You don’t need to look far to understand why. The enemy has a free reign over the affairs of men because the gatekeepers (the Body of Christ) have left their duty posts! Avarice, greed, inordinate desires, and despicable acts are on the increase because the Church looked away. You might ask, what is the concern of the Church? It is the concern of the Church because we have a mandate and are equipped to spread the light of God around the world to displace and dispel the darkness of hell. We are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14), not a light to ourselves or light under the table! Unfortunately, we are being embarrassed by the actions of some of our brethren daily because we bought into and allowed the evil of the world to seep into the Church: “We are ashamed because we have heard insults. Humiliation covers our faces because foreigners have entered the holy place of the Lord’s temple” (Jeremiah 51:51).  Like Phinehas, we must stand up on all our platforms and corners, and declare to the darkness of the world: Enough is Enough! Will you stand up Beloved, in these grave times and be counted for God? Phinehas was grieved in his spirit at the blatant display of evil in the camp of God! To stand for God means to stand against everything of the enemy especially those that have the appearance of good no matter where we find them, and no matter if the Moses’ and Elders of our time are seated! Beloved, you declare everyone is bad at your workplace, how have you become the salt there? Salt, cures, salt heals, salt preserves. What have YOU done as the salt? Light illuminates and dispels, it is clean and righteous!  In your environment…what exactly are you doing to shine the light of God from that corner you occupy? When Phinehas stood, not because he heard a voice tell him to, or he is more righteous than all that was around him but based on what he knew about God, what was transpiring before his eyes were evil.        Beloved, based on the teachings you have learned of God, that which you celebrate as good, is it really? For standing up, God blessed Phinehas and his seed forever: “Therefore declare: I grant him My covenant of peace. It will be a covenant of perpetual priesthood for him and his descendants because he was zealous for his God and made atonement for the Israelites” (Numbers 25:12-13). For us, as we take our stand for the Lord because as we do, we are actually standing for our families, communities, and Nation, God says: “Though the mountains move and the hills shake, My love will not be removed from you and My covenant of peace will not be shaken, says your compassionate LORD” (Isaiah 54:10). It is time to take a stand so that your light shines brightly and true! You and I are the change the Church, Nation needs RIGHT NOW! God bless you as you make the decision to do so!
